About Skelex Corporation
Skelex has been a cornerstone of the passive exoskeleton movement for many years, pushing the boundaries of innovation and adoption. The Skelex team is dedicated to improving the overall utility and comfort of humans working in industrial environments. They do this with the help of an experienced team of ergonomists, engineers, and product designers who continually refine prototypes of their products, backed by exhaustive testing, and a timeless desire to help industrial workers become their ultimate.
The first iteration of the Skelex exoskeleton was born out of a request from Airbus for a padded mechanical exoskeleton for aircraft maintenance. With the help of TNO, proof of concept and scientific soundness were approved at an early stage.
In 2017, Skelex received a 2017 seed investment from VenturesOne, a venture capital firm.
In 2019, VDL became the exclusive manufacturer of the Skelex exoskeleton.
The Skelex 360-XFR, which was launched in 2019, features a 360° range of motion and superior flame resistance, and won that year's International Red Dot Award for Industrial Design.
Over the past few years, Skelex exoskeletons have become the standard mechanical equipment in a variety of company facilities such as aerospace, automotive, construction, defense, railroad, shipbuilding, and more.
Main Product Profile
Skelex 360-XFR The Ultimate Exoskeleton for Overhead Work
The Skelex 360-XFR is not only safe to use in industrial environments, but also extremely durable. The essential parts of the shell (arm cups, height adjustment system) are made of Tencate TecaSafe (Plus)® and Kevlar ® Nomax ®, which makes these parts fire and flame resistant, oil and water resistant and anti-static agents.
The Skelex 360-XFR is equipped with an improved arm cup interface. It features a pinch-lock release and V-Lock arm length adjustment for added functionality. We redesigned the EVA padding for added comfort and absorption. Available in three sizes with back compatibility with all Skelex 360 devices.
The Skelex 360-XFR works in conjunction with the back cover (sold separately, the back is compatible with previous generation Skelex devices - please contact us) to protect the work environment from exoskeleton springs, scratches and tangles. The springs are made of Tencate TecaSafe (Plus)® and reinforced with PP patches to ensure that the FlexFrame is flame retardant.
The Skelex 360-XFR can be easily shared by multiple users thanks to its easy-to-remove and clean components. It features a variety of adjustment options and arm cups and is available in S, M and L sizes. In addition, the Skelex Softgoods set (sold separately) comes with individual arm cups and a harness for multiple users.
